Effective March 15, 2016, travelers going to Canada need Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to visit the country.
The new requirement for eTA affects citizens of many countries that can visit in Canada without a visa (e.g. EU citizens).
Citizens of countries that needed visa will still need to apply for a visa.
The Electronic Travel Authorization cost $7 Canadian dollars and can be obtained online on: Canada.ca/eTA
Approved Electronic Travel Authorization is valid for 5 years.
U.S. citizens do NOT need eTA or visa to visit in Canada.
